"Looking to pack in some extra Christmas activities with the kids then pay a visit to Wookey Hole's Winter Wonderland where you can walk off the festive excesses exploring the depts of North Somerset's Caves.

For little ones with plenty of energy, why not head off to the Salisbury Skating or Bath on Ice rinks, where you can also get in a little Glow-in-the-Dark Crazy Golf or perhaps enjoy a local Panto.

If you are interested in all things miniature, then pay a visit to the miniature world of trains with the Wessex Association of Model Railway Clubs Winter Exhibition 2020, showing at the Cheese and Grain in Frome, Friday 4th and Saturday 5th January.

And there's still time to reserve a room at The Lighthouse and purchase your discounted tickets for the The Festival of Light at Longleat Safari Park, open until Sunday 6th January.

A little later in the month, Bradford on Avon is hosting its annual Braford Roots Music Festival on Saturday 18th, offering a mixture of jazz, bluegrass, world and everything in between.

Those who enjoy a touch of tradition, it's time to dust off the kilt and sporron and head off to the Pump Room in Bath, where they are holding a Burn's Night on Saturday 25th January, celebrating the life and work of Robert Burn with an evening of food, poetry, music and Scottish dancing.
